ABSTRACT / POSTER COMPETITION
The organizing committee of the CriNurConColombo 2018 invites nurse
researchers to submit abstracts related to critical care nursing to be
entitled to present as Poster presenters at this conference.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
A. General Guidelines
-
All abstracts must be prepared in Microsoft Word using a single-spaced, 12-font size, Arial font. Margins must be one and half inches on left, and one inch on right, top and bottom. Centre the title in upper-case font. Indicate the authors' names and address information followed by the title.

All abstracts must be written in English.
-
The maximum word limit for the abstract is 250 words.
-
Conference Secretariat reserves the right to edit abstracts that exceed the word limit.

Note: Tables, figures and references should not be included in the abstract.

Submit your abstract before 29th June 2018. (23:59 GMT).
-
Withdrawal of abstracts can only be accepted if notified in writing. It is possible to withdraw an abstract 14 days after notification on acceptance.

If selected, it is the responsibility of the presenter to bear his/her travel and accommodation expenses
B. Presenting Author and Registration

The presenting author must register as an active participant at the conference at the latest 14 days after acceptance of an abstract
-
CriNurConColombo 2018 reserves the right to exclude any abstract from the scientific program that is not followed by a participant registration at the latest 14 days after notification on acceptance.

C. Contents of your abstract
-
The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to clearly indicate the nature of the study. Write the abstract title in CAPITAL LETTERS. No full stop at the end.

No identifying features such as names of authors, hospitals, medical schools, clinics or cities may be listed in the title or abstract text, as a “blind” review process will be used.

You will be asked to enter the name(s) of the author(s) and their institution(s) when you submit you're abstract online.
D. Abstract must include the following:

Abstract submissions must be structured as follows:

Title
-
Background Aim - Clearly state the purpose of the abstract.

Method - Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.
-
Results - Present your results in a logical sequence in text, table, and illustrations.
-
Conclusions - Emphasize new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them.

All abbreviations must be defined in first use.
-
Download the abstract template and follow the format carefully.
-
Statements such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” cannot be accepted.
-
Use of brand names for all references to products or companies, generic names must be used. The brand name can be inserted as a reference at the bottom of the abstract page. Papers containing brand names/company names in the abstract text (i.e. not in a reference at the bottom of the page) may be rejected for this reason only. CriNurConColombo 2018 Conference Secretariat reserves the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice.

Images that are uploaded to follow the abstract are not guaranteed inclusion in the Conference Materials.

E. Steps to follow for your abstract submission
Once you have prepared the abstract according to the above guidelines,

After submission you will be acknowledged of the receipt of the abstract via an email within three days.
F. Reviewing
-
The scientific committee will review the abstract.
-
Abstracts will be blind reviewed and evaluated for their scientific merit and their relevance to critical care nursing.
-
All submitters will receive a confirmation of acceptance or non-acceptance by E-mail TWO weeks prior to the conference.
-
It is the responsibility of all investigators that all studies are performed with respect to national legislation, international legislation and ethical guidelines both with regards to humans and animals.
-
If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to register for the conference.

If revision is required, the revised abstract must be sent back within a week to crinurconsession18@gmail.com.
-
Please verify that your email address (submitter and presenting author) is correct as it will be used for contacting you after the review process.

G. Poster preparation
-
Place the title of your paper clearly at the top of the poster to allow viewers to easily identify your paper. Letters in the title should be at least 1 inch high. Indicate the authors' names and address information in order to allow interested viewers to contact you for more information.

Prepare all tables or figures neatly and legibly, in a size sufficient to be read at a distance of 1.5–2.0 metres. Use different colours for each line or bars contained in your tables or figures.
-
Organize the poster in a way that it is clear, orderly, and self-explanatory. The poster must cover the same content as the abstract. Label different elements as 1, 2, 3, or A, B, C. This will make it easier for a viewer to follow your display.

Include the background of your research followed by the aim, method, results and conclusions.
